Weekend in Valencia

May 11 Friday
On Fridays we don't have to go to the hospital today so it was nice to sleep and have breakfast without being in a hurry, and we met up with Inma and did a tour of the Aljafería which is like this big Muslim/catholic palace that was super cool then we had a pretty good lunch just not enough food haha. Then we went back and changed into swimsuits and headed to the river kayaking activity, it was pretty fun the water wasn’t even cold or dirty and it goes right through the city and I had my speaker bumping music and everything so it was fun:) then all of us went and got dominos all you can eat pizza which was awesome totally reminded me of my mission haha then we got ice cream and walked around el Centro even though I wanted to go dancing and do something fun cause it was Friday night but no one else wanted to so we went back to the hotel and played bang and it was pretty fun, then we had to pack and go to bed cause we left for Valencia early in the morning. We woke up early and took the early train to Valencia and luckily I was able to sleep a lot of the ride and it was just cool to be able to see the Spanish country side again. Then we got here and check into the Airbnb and went and got paella which was awesome because paella comes from Valencia and it was super rico! then we went back to the apartment and changed and went to the beach, it was great to be back at the beach I loved it, it’s a pretty calm beach and pretty clean and there were a lot of people but it was huge so it didn’t feel too crowded and we just hung out, tanned listened to music and played in the water all day like for so long! I got a yummy passion fruit smoothie and just hung out it was funny cause there were so many boobs haha but then we found a soccer ball and played for awhile and got super tired and hit and sweaty but it was worth it so much fun! We had a really good time at the beach! Then we came back and changed and took a bus into town and GOODNESS! Valencia is beautiful and such an awesome city full of nice people! It’s so clean and awesome looking buildings then there is so much greenery and parks it was impressive! Everyone was so nice! Like we met this family from Honduras and they were so nice! They helped us know more about the city and when to get off and showed us this restaurant to eat at and they were just so nice! Loved them and love the people here then we got dinner and it was yummy, got a special fideu paella then we went to this discoteca on the beach that fulfilled my dream haha it was super fun it was outside and free and we had a good time.

Sunday morning in Valencia we woke up early after being out late at the discoteca and we went to church but it was a far walk away but we got there on time and it was such a big ward and so diverse so that was awesome to see and it was cool cause elder Obando a seventy that spoke when I was in my mission is from there and he spoke so that was cool to hear from him again and we talked to the sister of a missionary I knew and she was really nice told us if we ever are in Valencia to tell her and they’d put together something but then we had to go so we left and packed up stuff at the apartment. Then we had time to go to the beach before the train came and it was such a beautiful day it was perfect temperature clear sky’s and the water and sand felt amazing! It was so pretty! I love Valencia! Also everyone was out on sailboats it was a pretty day so we just played in the water a ton and laid out and then we had a quick lunch then had to go leave the Airbnb for the train station then we just traveled back to Zaragoza and I slept. Then we got back and got Chinese food and I called my mom for Mother’s Day and it was so good to talk to her and my dad, i miss them!
