San Sebastian

May 18 Friday
So today was the last day in general surgery and it was pretty lame to be honest, they had this big long meeting forever in the morning then it took forever for the surgery to get started and the surgery wasn’t anything cool just like a hernia then we came back and Ashlee and I got lunch from Mercadona and then I took care of some stuff before the trip and packed then I watched some Netflix and we then went to the bus station to head to San Sebastián. Man is this place cool! It’s so different then the rest of spain I’ve seen it’s so mountainous and green and looks like a story book coming in on the bus and it’s even cooler cause you have these green mountains and this beautiful beach cove right there it’s great! And it’s not super cold but it is humid cause it rains so much. It kind of has a San Francisco feel to it it’s pretty cool so we walked to our apartment and took in the views and our apartment is pretty nice! Then we went to the old center of town and got some pretty awesome tapas it was so good! And then we got ice cream and walked on the beach to our apartment then we watched a movie and passed out!

Saturday morning I slept in a little which felt great! Then we ate breakfast and started our hike up to the view point that looks over all of San Sebastián. It wasn’t too bad of a hike and it was super pretty and you get to the top and can see everything the cove and the mountains and all the green! Then we went back to the apartment and made lunch and got ready for the beach so we went and I was the only one who got in the water at first cause it’s not as warm as Valencia but I loved it I think it felt great! And it was fun to hang out in the beach! We played a lot of football and had some good moves on both sides of the ball. This guy named Gabriel played with us he was cool he’s from the states. So yeah that was really fun playing soccer and swimming in the water and listening to music. Then Jake dared me to go talk to this girl and he’d buy my dinner and i has to go play let’s get on on my speaker haha it was awesome though, sadly she had a boyf but she was flirting up a storm! haha so yeah it was fun. Then we went to these blow holes she told me about and it was dece then went back to the apartment and changed then we went downtown to eat tapas and it was fun to be eating such good food in such a cool place!

Sunday we got up and got ready for church and so we went and it was great! So many ecuatorian and hondoranian members but yeah it was a good ward and they are a lot but the chapel is super small cause they just built a new one that will be done in a month but until then it’s a lot of people in a small space. The sacrament was really good then we went back to the Airbnb to check out and change into swimsuits and have lunch. I bought a really good pizza and had that! Then we took a bus to the other cove on the other side of the town and it was even cooler like felt like a surfer town part of town cause that beach is like the wave beach and it kinda had a California vibe with the stores and everything and so yeah the beach there was warmer and more fun with the waves!:) we went body surfing but it was tough cause the ground was so up and down that I felt like drowning haha but it was fun. Then we just kind of hung out on the beach and listened to music. I went and bought some new Brazilian flip flops cause mine broke and I bought a football so we passed it around first in the sand then we did a quick little scrimmage to teach Ashlee how to play. Then me Jake and joe went and passed it in the waves and it was fun but I took a huge gulp of salt water in and threw up like a lot of my pizza haha. Then the others went to explore and we just chilled in the beach and talked, I prefer the beach. Then we all came back and changed and got ready to catch the bus so we grabbed a quick bite and one last good ice cream to remember San Sebastián by! It was a great city! So unique from everything you else I’ve seen from Spain! So green and mountainous and you can tell like being so close to France the architecture has that influence and the food was good! Then we just walked to the bus station and just waited out by the river cause everyone was out enjoying like perfect weather and a sunset. It was such a good time!
